Aims and Ethos

At Longlands Community Primary School everyone has the opportunity to do their best. Our school motto is 'Right start, bright future' and we are dedicated to working in partnership with parents and carers to give the best start possible to all of the pupils in our care.

The mission of our school is to create an environment, built on warm relationships, where both staff and pupils feel a strong sense of belonging to a safe and happy community. It is in this climate that our pupils are able to achieve to the best of their ability and fulfil their potential as learners.

We believe passionately in recognising every pupil as a unique individual, each with their own gifts and talents. We are committed to treating everybody fairly and equitably respecting and valuing diversity.

We are proud of our school and our children. We provide a secure, caring and friendly environment where all pupils' physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs are met. Through high quality teaching, we aim to develop positive attitudes to learning which will enable pupils to achieve high standards academically. We aim to support our children as they develop into confident, happy and independent learners who are able to recognise and value the community of which they are an important part.

We strive for excellence in all we do and we encourage our pupils to do the same. This is a thread that runs through all areas of school life. We have high expectations of all our leaners. The values we instil allow our pupils to grow into confident, independent learners
